About Anita. Anita Davis is a longtime resident of the U.S. Virgin Islands, whose main career endeavors revolved around the media, beginning with her work at St. Thomas' historic WSTA Radio. She's also worked at WPGA (Perry, Georgia), WJMO (Cleveland), and the 3 Knight Quality Stations (Caribbean Division, now Ackley Media Group) as Director of Programming and Projects. Anita has been a freelance writer and public speaker. For 3 years, she worked at EarthLink, formerly the legendary MindSpring (sigh!).

Currently, Anita is earns her living within the hospitality industry, utilizing a combination of technical facility and strong communications skills. In her spare time, she donates web services to non-profit organizations, travels, and reads extensively.

Some sites Anita likes:

Crunk & Disorderly: A frank and often withering look at the world of the blinged-out as well as those who reel into that particular universe by virtue of our depraved fascination with human oddity. Hilarious use of "cuss words" (at least, to Anita).

Dem Man Say: U.S. Virgin Islands politics and social missteps under the harsh glare of an unapologetic critic. There is no way to NOT end up on this site, but until you are, it's an eye-popping look at those who DO. Have mercy. Anita will try to keep her (big) head low.

MSN.com: Sheepish Anita is always moaning about Micro$tuff, but cannot stay away from the behemoth's portal because the editors work hard every day to stir interest in things one did not even know one was interested in... "Post-divorce sex tips", anyone?

SOAPnet: Angie and Jesse are together again for the very first time and I have forgiven TPTB for ditching Dixie and Brooke. But only for as long as Angie and Jesse remain. Real super-couples are never, ever, truly "finished" (c'mon Victor and Nicki, you know you want each other).

StormCarib: When Caribbean weather is a concern, the national media certainly do put in an effort to cover it. But there's nothing like being on the ground beneath the cloud. Combine what you find on "other" weather networks with the crack team of island correspondents on StormCarib, and you'll be closer to the complete meteorological story.

VINow.com: Those who don't live here, visit for the maps, booklets, cruise ship listings and teeming plethora of good information. Those who do live here, spend lots of time on the main forum, offering what we hope are accurate answers to a variety of questions. Anita lurks a lot.

VISource.com: St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix have their own online papers. Professional journalists cover everything from the political beat to buttery human interest stuff. This is a newspaper built from unabashed love. Get daily digests delivered to your inbox to enjoy over your cocoa tea and dumb bread.
